There are no words that could adequately convey my outrage & revulsion over white so-called "leftists" claiming to see themselves in the likes of Charlie Kirk. I am a boomer generation white person, still a leftie, and this turns my stomach. Frankly, I could throw up at the very thought of white "leftists" identifying with racist, fascist scum like Charlie Kirk. Hello. This helps explain the intellectual & spiritual alienation I’ve suffered in recent years. Because "left" means nothing anymore. Comparing today’s “left” with the left of a century ago, or even fifty years ago, is beyond depressing. These white people you speak of are not “leftists”. It’s just a label these spineless ditto heads attach to themselves, in a lame attempt to separate themselves from the hard right. If that's as close to a "left" we have in this country, we are in deep do-do.
